technology is so over my head
well now my page is down too, so hello LJ! It's been a good day, mostly. I'm always a bit worn down by the time Friday rolls around. Work has been NUTTY crazy with changes this week. I've gotten some good feedback from the higher-ups, but we all know that can change in the blink of an eye.
And it turns out some hacker brat used my work email to send around some virus. My IT department says that my computer is clean, and so are all our servers, so it didn't actually come from me. I'm all for the free flow of information and all that, but this sort of thing just pisses me off. All day I've been getting emails back from people saying "oh you sent me a virus." which I didn't. but try explaining that to someone even MORE of a technology neophyte than me. (did I use neophyte correctly?)
But Good Things are happening too:
- Leia and I booked our hotel for SXSW today and got a terrific deal. After taxes and everything it's $68.40 a night. For those of you that need help with the math, that's only $34.20 each. And it includes breakfast. Can't beat that! Hotels.com makes you pay for it all up front, which, while it makes things very tight right now, will be better in the long run because it will be paid for when we get down there. (can you say run on sentence?) Anyhow, yay for advance planning!
- It is Friday and I don't have to get up for work tomorrow. And Bentley will sleep with Erica tonight. So hopefully I will sleep ALL night.
- There is dancing tomorrow. Girl Time no less. NO boys! Well, no boys that will be annoying and hit on me. I *heart* the village.
